Norway's Pollen Seasons

In Norway, tree pollen season starts in March. Birch trees produce most pollen, with peaks in April-May. Other tree species like oak and hazel also release pollen.

Grass pollen season begins in late May and lasts through July. Peak grass pollen times usually occur in June. This affects many people with pollen allergies.

Weed pollen, from plants like mugwort and ragweed, appears in July-August. Although less widespread, some areas have high concentrations. Ragweed pollen can travel far.

Peak pollen times vary by region, but generally, southern and eastern Norway have higher pollen counts. Major cities like Oslo experience significant tree and grass pollen releases.
