Finland's Pollen Seasons

In Finland, alder pollen season starts in March and can continue through April. Birch pollen follows in April and May. Birch is the most common pollen type across the year, and May is the busiest month for pollen.

Grass plants release pollen during June and July in Finland. These months mark a shift from pollen released by trees to pollen released by grasses. Grass pollen can affect people with allergies.

Weed pollen comes later in the year. Mugwort releases pollen in July and August, while ragweed season falls in September. These late-season plants extend Finland’s pollen calendar beyond the main tree and grass periods for some people with allergies.
