Inari, Finland has long, cold winters. Snow melts in spring, and trees start to bloom. Birch trees produce a lot of pollen. This happens in late April and May.

Updated: 5/10/2026

Birch pollen season can be strong. Trees release yellowish dust into the air. Wind carries the pollen. People notice the yellow dust on cars and surfaces.

In summer, grasses and wildflowers grow. They produce pollen too. This season starts in June and lasts until August. Pollen counts are usually lower than in spring.

In autumn, pollen counts are very low. Some trees like alder and hazel produce pollen. This happens in September and October. Winter soon arrives, and pollen season ends.
