In Nea Makri, spring starts the main pollen season. It usually begins in February and grows stronger in March, April, and May. Trees like cypress, pine, olive, and plane release much of the pollen during this time.

Updated: 7/7/2026

Late spring and early summer still have pollen in the air. Olive trees may keep releasing pollen into May. Grasses then become more active in May and June. Wild plants and many weeds also start to bloom and send pollen into the air.

Summer usually has less pollen than spring, but it does not stop. Grasses can continue into July, especially in cooler places. Some weeds and dry-field plants also release pollen during the hot months, though often in smaller amounts.

In autumn, pollen comes mostly from weeds. Plants like ragweed can appear from late August through October. Other wild plants may also bloom after the heat drops. Winter usually has the least pollen, though a few trees may start early.
