Pollen Count

Pollen count in Athens

Athens, Greece has a Mediterranean climate with mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers. Spring and fall are transition seasons with varying weather.

Pollen seasons in Athens are moderate compared to other Mediterranean cities. The peak season is during late February to mid-April due to tree pollination.

Grass pollen is prevalent from mid-spring to early summer, while weed pollen can be found in the autumn. Coastal breezes can occasionally bring Sahara desert sand, which may carry allergens. However, high temperatures decrease pollen counts in the summer months.
