Ukraine's Pollen Seasons

In Ukraine, tree pollen starts with alder in March. Birch pollen also appears in March and continues through April. Olive trees release pollen in May and June, adding another spring season for people who react to pollen.

Grass pollen is common in June and July. Mugwort, a weed, releases pollen in July and August. These overlapping seasons mean people with allergies may notice pollen from grasses and weeds across much of summer in Ukraine.

Ragweed releases pollen in August and September. It is the most common pollen type across the year in the measured records, and August is the busiest month for pollen. Weed pollen remains important as summer ends.
