Ukrainka, Ukraine has a temperate climate with distinct pollen seasons. Trees release pollen in early spring, typically March and April. Birch, oak, and hazel trees are common allergens.
Grasses release pollen in late spring and early summer, around May and June. Ryegrass and timothy grass are major contributors to pollen counts. Weed pollen appears in late summer and fall, September and October.
Pollen counts vary daily, depending on weather conditions. High temperatures, wind, and sunlight increase pollen release. Rain and cool temperatures reduce pollen levels.
Pollen levels peak on sunny, windy days. Peak pollen hours are usually between 5am and 10am. Pollen counts decrease at night when temperatures cool and wind dies down.
When pollen counts are high, we suggest doing these things to help with allergies, especially on windy days when pollen is flying around.
