Pollen allergies are a common problem in Czechy and Poland. They occur when plants release pollen into the air. This irritates eyes, nose, and throat.
Trees are the first to produce pollen. In Czechy and Poland, this usually happens in February and March. Birch, oak, and hazel trees are the biggest allergen producers.
Grasses and weeds pollinate later, typically from May to July. This is the peak pollen season in both countries. People with allergies often experience worst symptoms during this time.
During pollen seasons, it's best to stay indoors, especially on windy days. Keeping windows closed and using an air purifier can also help reduce symptoms.
When pollen counts are high, we suggest doing these things to help with allergies, especially on windy days when pollen is flying around.
