Pollen allergies are a common problem in Twardorzeczka, Poland. They occur when the body's immune system overreacts to pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds.
Trees are the main culprits in early spring. Birch and hazel trees release pollen from late March to early May. Oak and beech trees follow from mid-April to late May.
Grasses are the main problem in late spring and early summer. They release pollen from late May to early July. This is usually the worst time for pollen allergy sufferers.
Weeds cause issues in late summer and early fall. Nettle and sorrel weeds release pollen from late July to early September. Pollen counts are usually lower during this time.
When pollen counts are high, we suggest doing these things to help with allergies, especially on windy days when pollen is flying around.
