In late winter and early spring, Samos begins to warm up. Olive trees, cypress trees, and many grasses start to release pollen. Air can carry it through towns and fields. This season often begins in February and grows stronger in March.

Updated: 7/28/2026

In spring, pollen is usually at its highest. Pine trees, plane trees, and more grasses add to the pollen in the air. Flowers in gardens and wild plants also bloom. April and May can feel busy for plants that spread pollen.

In early summer, some pollen is still present. Grasses may keep releasing pollen into June. Olive trees can also stay active for a while. The weather gets hotter and drier, so pollen from some plants becomes less common as summer goes on.

In autumn and winter, pollen is usually lower in Samos. A few weeds and late grasses may still release small amounts in autumn. By December and January, most plants rest. The air is often clearer, with less pollen from trees and grasses.
