In late spring and early summer, grass pollen becomes important. Most grass pollen in Tralee appears from May to July. Fields, lawns, and roadsides can all add to it. Ryegrass and other common grasses release large amounts of pollen when they flower.

In summer, some weed pollen appears. It is often seen from July into September. Plants like nettle and plantain can release pollen then. This happens more on warm days, especially when the plants grow along paths, hedges, and open ground.

In autumn and winter, pollen levels are usually lower in Tralee. Most trees and grasses have finished flowering. Some weeds may still release a little pollen early in autumn. By the colder months, there is very little pollen in the air.
