Pollen Count

Pollen count in Southend-on-Sea

Pollen allergies affect many people in Southend-on-Sea. They occur when the body mistakes pollen for a threat. This causes symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes.

In Southend-on-Sea, there are two main pollen seasons. Tree pollen is released from late March to early May. Grass pollen is released from mid-May to July.

During these seasons, pollen counts are usually highest from 5am to 10am. This is when plants release their pollen into the air. Counts can also be higher on windy days.

To minimize symptoms, stay indoors during peak pollen hours. Keep windows and doors closed. Use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter to remove pollen from the air.
