In Leksand, late winter and early spring bring the first pollen. Hazel and alder often start in March. Birch usually follows in April and May. These trees release tiny yellow pollen into the air when days get warmer.

In late spring and early summer, grass pollen becomes common. Many grasses flower from May into July. Their pollen can spread on warm, dry, and windy days. This is a busy pollen time in fields, lawns, and meadows around Leksand.

In midsummer, some weeds also release pollen. Plantain can bloom from June into August. Mugwort often flowers later, from July into September. These plants grow along roadsides, in yards, and in open places with lots of sunlight.

In late summer and early autumn, pollen from weeds slowly decreases. By September, most tree and grass pollen is gone. Some plants may still bloom for a short time, but the air usually holds much less pollen than in spring and early summer.
