In late winter and early spring, tree pollen starts first in Gargellen. Hazel and alder often release pollen in February and March. Birch follows in April and May. These trees bloom as the snow melts and the days grow warmer.

In spring, grass pollen becomes important. It usually appears from May into July. Many grasses on meadows and slopes release tiny pollen grains. Timothy grass, ryegrass, and other wild grasses are common. Wind carries this pollen through the mountain air.

In summer, flower pollen is present too. Many plants bloom in June, July, and August. Herbs like plantain, sorrel, and mugwort can release pollen. Flowers in fields and along paths also add pollen to the air during warm days.

In early autumn, pollen levels usually get lower. Some plants still bloom in September and October. Mugwort and a few late weeds may continue to release pollen. After the first frosts, most plants stop flowering, and the pollen season ends.
