Iceland's Pollen Seasons
In Iceland, tree pollen season starts in late April and early May. Birch trees are the main source, producing large amounts of pollen.
Grass pollen season begins in late May and June, with some grass species releasing pollen. However, grass pollen levels are generally lower than in other European countries.
Weed pollen, mainly from docks and sorrel, appears in mid-summer, around July. Levels are usually lower than tree and grass pollen.
Peak pollen times are usually around late April to early May for trees, and late May for grasses. Pollen levels vary by region, with more pollen in rural areas.
