Tree pollen is the main allergy culprit in Budakeszi, Hungary. It starts in late February and lasts until mid-April. Birch, oak, and beech trees release pollen.
Grass pollen takes over from mid-May to mid-July. Wheat, rye, and barley are common allergenic grasses. Symptoms include sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes.
Weed pollen dominates from mid-July to late September. Nettle, sorrel, and goosefoot are problem weeds. Pollen counts are highest on warm, windy days.
Peak pollen seasons usually occur on warm, sunny days. Avoid outdoor activities during peak pollen hours (5am-10am). Wear a mask when outdoors to reduce exposure.
When pollen counts are high, we suggest doing these things to help with allergies, especially on windy days when pollen is flying around.
